Senior Re-Testing

Senior Re-Testing

As a senior driver in Ontario, staying updated on the latest Ministry of Transportation regulations is essential for safe driving. We offer guidance on the requirements for senior drivers and provide the necessary training to help you pass your road test with confidence.

Re-Testing Requirements:

Ages 70+: You may be required to retest if you have a traffic violation or collision. This includes a vision and written test, followed by a 30-minute road test with an expressway portion. We can assist with the road test preparation.

Ages 80+: If instructed to take a road test after attending a Senior Group Education Session, the road test will be 20 minutes without an expressway portion.

Road Test Focus Areas

The road test emphasizes laws, procedures, and proper observation techniques. Many seniors struggle with these areas, leading to a high failure rate. If you don’t pass, your license may be downgraded to a beginner level, requiring you to drive with a fully licensed driver, which can be a challenging adjustment. Let us guide you through the process to ensure you understand the requirements and succeed on test day.
